The museum is conveniently located at Pier 15 between the historic Ferry Building and Pier 39 on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Meet at Pier 15 and unplug and play with 700+ interactive exhibits exploring science, art, and perception. Encounter the unexpected with programming that invites you into the worlds of the thinkers and creators changing our communities. Journey through total darkness in the twisting, turning, world-famous Tactile Dome. Get inquisitive and grab a drink. With 75,000 square feet of conversation starters, you'll never run out of things to talk about.

Important Information

The museum is located at Pier 15 between the Ferry Building and Pier 39. The Tactile Dome is available at an additional fee and requires advance booking. It's recommended to allow at least 2-3 hours for your visit. The Exploratorium is a hands-on museum; interactive participation is encouraged. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the exhibit areas.
