Description

Wander through the ancient groves of coastal redwoods in Muir Woods National Monument and walk along the quaint sidewalks of Downtown Sausalito on this relaxed half-day tour. Muir Woods National Monument is an old-growth redwood forest located about 30 minutes from downtown San Francisco, just over the Golden Gate Bridge. After a pick-up from a central San Francisco hotel, your group will head up north over the bridge and into the Marin Headlands. If the fog is clear, you might get a chance to stop and take some pictures of the bridge up close. When you arrive in Muir Woods, you will have 1.5 hours to roam through this living museum where you can get a glimpse of the towering trees that used to dominate the west coast from Santa Barbara to Washington. After exploring Muir Woods, hop back on the vehicle for a quick ride over to Sausalito, California. Here get a 15-20 minute narrated tour through the beautiful seaside Mediterranean-style town before departing on the next leg of your journey: a ferry ride across the San Francisco Bay. Choose your ferry return time to allow room for lunch at one of Sausalito's lovely restaurants or cafes, or head back across the bay to enjoy the rest of your day in San Francisco.
